With consistently high demand and a commitment to quality, we are seeking a skilled Chef to join our team and support our busy kitchen operations.
Location: Port Melbourne, VIC
Position: Chef – Full-Time
Salary: $76,000 – $80,000 + Superannuation
About the Role
The Chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to ensure consistent quality, presentation, and flavour. You will work across multiple kitchen stations, support daily prep, and assist with maintaining smooth operations during peak service periods.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare and cook a wide range of modern Australian dishes including entrées, mains, salads, and breakfast items.
2. Maintain consistency in taste, portion control, and presentation across all menu offerings.
3. Assist in menu planning, seasonal specials, and recipe development.
4. Monitor ingredient quality, maintain correct food storage, and ensure stock rotation procedures.
5. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
6. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation throughout all kitchen areas.
7. Support stock control and ordering of ingredients and supplies.
8. Train and guide junior kitchen staff as required.
9. Ensure compliance with WHS regulations and food safety practices.
10. Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service.
Skills & Experience
1. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen (required for Subclass 482 visa).
3. Experience with café and modern Australian cuisine is highly valued.
4. Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards.
5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during peak service times.
6. Good communication and teamwork skills.
7. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
