As our customer base continues to grow, we’re looking for a talented and dedicated Chef to join our busy kitchen and contribute to delivering the exceptional dining experience our guests have come to expect.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $76,000 – $78,000 + Superannuation

The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Chef who can plan, prepare, and execute authentic Indian dishes with precision and flair. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef to ensure food quality, presentation, and service efficiency are maintained throughout every shift.

Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare, season, and cook Indian dishes such as curries, biryanis, tandoori items, and breads to high standards.
2. Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency and quality across all menu items.
3. Manage stock control, portioning, and ingredient rotation (FIFO).
4. Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service periods.
5. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS regulations.
6. Develop and test new menu items or specials in collaboration with management.
7. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organise prep areas for efficient workflow.
8. Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation before serving.
9. Train and guide junior kitchen team members and cooks.
10. Liaise with suppliers for fresh produce and maintain cost control.

Skills & Experience
1. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
2. Minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a Chef in an Indian or multicultural restaurant.
3. Proven ability to prepare authentic Indian cuisine using traditional spices and techniques.
4. Strong understanding of HACCP, WHS, and allergen management standards.
5. Excellent multitasking and time management skills in a high-pressure environment.
6. Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff with professionalism and respect.
7. Reliable, consistent, and passionate about delivering great food and customer satisfaction.
