Location: Caversham WA 6055
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum
Hours: 38 hours per week
Spice in the Valley Pty Ltd (ABN 47 650 323 872) is a vibrant, contemporary Indian restaurant located in the heart of the Swan Valley. We offer an authentic Indian dining experience with a fully licensed bar, a lively dining atmosphere, a dedicated function hall, and a relaxing outdoor seating area. Our restaurant is committed to providing exceptional food and service, making us a popular dining destination for both locals and visitors.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, cook, and present authentic Indian dishes with consistency and high quality.
• Plan, develop, and update menus, balancing traditional flavours with innovative dishes.
• Supervise, mentor, and train junior kitchen staff.
• Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships.
• Maintain compliance with workplace health and food safety standards.
• Contribute to smooth kitchen operations, including rostering and workflow management.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate IV or higher) or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ full-time experience as a Chef, preferably specialising in Indian cuisine.
• Strong knowledge of Indian spices, cooking methods, and authentic menu preparation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
