Overview:

Odin Tavern is a well-established hospitality venue in Balcatta, Western Australia, offering exceptional food, drinks, and service in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Known for our hearty pub classics, modern Australian cuisine, and vibrant community events, we pride ourselves on delivering fresh, flavourful meals that keep our guests coming back.

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining food safety and kitchen standards. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Balcatta, WA.

Main tasks:

- Prepare, cook, and plate meals across all sections of the kitchen in line with Odin Tavern’s menu and standards.
- Assist in menu development, including daily specials and seasonal updates.
- Maintain food quality, portion control, and presentation to ensure consistency.
- Ensure all food preparation and storage areas comply with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Oversee stock control, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of ingredients.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, fostering a positive and cooperative team environment.
- Manage prep work to meet service timelines and handle peak service periods effectively.
- Minimise waste and contribute to cost control through efficient use of ingredients.

Work Experience:

- Minimum of a relevant Certificate IV (or equivalent), and
- At least one year of practical experience in a commercial kitchen environment.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

- Strong culinary skills with experience in preparing a wide variety of dishes.
- Solid understanding of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Reliable, disciplined, and committed to high-quality food preparation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Annual salary will be between $75.000,00 to $85,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
