Beaches Restaurant is one of Yeppoon’s most admired coastal dining venues, offering a relaxed yet refined food experience overlooking the Coral Sea. Known for our commitment to wellness-focused cuisine, our menus are crafted using naturally grown, chemical-free ingredients sourced from a nearby organic permaculture farm, alongside sustainably harvested local seafood and ethically raised meats. Our venue also hosts weddings and private events, giving our team the opportunity to create memorable dining experiences for both intimate dinners and large celebrations. With a strong focus on freshness, sustainability and exceptional service, Beaches Restaurant is seeking a dedicated Chef to join our growing kitchen team. We are seeking a skilled Chef who can contribute to our seasonal menu development, uphold our high culinary standards, and support smooth day-to-day kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen, strong organisational capability, and a genuine passion for healthy, sustainably sourced food.
Chef – Full-Time | Beaches Restaurant | Yeppoon, QLD
Key Responsibilities
• Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness, ensuring all produce used aligns with our sustainability values and farm-to-plate philosophy.
• Uphold cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment, equipment and workstations in line with food safety requirements.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene standards and workplace health practices, and ensure these regulations are consistently applied across the kitchen.
• Contribute to stock control through accurate ordering, rotation, safe storage and, where needed, preparing preserved items to minimise waste and maximise ingredient use.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to create a positive, productive and respectful kitchen culture.
• Create and prepare a variety of dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, ensuring consistency in flavour, portioning and presentation across all meal services.
• Assist with developing and refining menus that showcase our organic produce and sustainable proteins, while considering cost efficiency, customer preferences and seasonal availability.
• Supervise food preparation throughout each stage of service, ensuring dishes meet our quality expectations and align with our restaurant’s culinary philosophy.
• Work closely with Restaurant Managers, event coordinators and front-of-house staff to plan for weddings, functions and special events, ensuring smooth delivery and cohesive menu execution.
• Provide guidance to junior kitchen staff by demonstrating techniques, supporting skill development and promoting best practice cooking methods.
• Address operational challenges such as dietary requests, preparation timing and workflow coordination to ensure efficient kitchen performance.
• Support training and onboarding of new kitchen staff to ensure consistency in kitchen operations and high customer service standards.
Qualifications & Experience
• At least 1 year of relevant commercial cookery experience.
• Must hold an AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in a relevant field.

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 + Superannuation
Hours: 38 hours per week
