Seeking another passionate and highly skilled Chef to join their committed established kitchen team -with new kitchen developments opening soon.
Looking for grill/ pans/ larder chef/s however will rotate through the kitchen and learn and work in multiple sections. The position will report direct to the Exec Chef / Sous Chef and will work to support the creation, implementation and development of menu items.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ability to deliver exceptional and consistent food to guests
-Able to learn and work multiple sections (incl grill/ pans/ larder/fryer) and operate daily kitchen services
-Lead kitchen activities, including food preparation, stock control and hygiene compliance
-Follow directions and work in a team as well as be able to work autonomously
-Co-ordinate with front of house staff to deliver efficient service
-A strong eye for detail
-Supervise & mentor junior members of the team as required
-Maintaining kitchen cleanliness, hygiene and adhere to inhouse policies and procedures and legislative requirements
-Assist with menu planning, daily specials and portion controls
-Prepare, cook and present food in line with menu specifications and standards
The right candidate must be trade certified with min 3 years experience as a chef in a fast paced, high volume kitchen and a desire to work with high quality food, be comfortable in a fast paced environment and be passionate about our philosophy and seasonal fresh produce. This position requires weekend and evening shifts.
Requirements include
-Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment to substitute formal qualification
-Have qualifications Kitchen Management or Hospitality (e.g Diploma in hospitality or equivalent)
-Strong knowledge of food preparation, gourmet presentation, and kitchen operations
-Excellent time management, teamwork, and communication skills
-Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality setting
In return we offer remuneration based on experience and a roster including balanced lunch and dinner shifts. Onsite parking available, close to public transport.
