Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 per annum plus superannuation

About Us:
Sunset Food and Wine is a restaurant located at Kangaroo Head on Kangaroo Island. We are open five days per week for both lunch and dinner, serving modern Australian cuisine with a focus on fresh, local produce in a casual yet refined setting.

About the Role:
We are seeking a professional and motivated Chef to join our team on a full-time, fixed-term contract. Working closely with our Executive Chef, you will contribute to delivering a high-quality dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a high standard

- Run day-to-day kitchen operations and maintain consistency

- Assist with menu development and ordering stock

- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)

- Work collaboratively within a small team and independently when required

Skills and Experience Required:

- Certificate III (or higher) in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification

- At least 2 years of proven experience working in a restaurant, wine bar, or hotel kitchen

- Strong knowledge of seasonal produce and modern Australian cuisine

- High attention to detail with excellent food presentation skills

- Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure

- Good communication and teamwork skills

Additional Information:

- Accommodation is available for the successful candidate

- Contract dates: November 2025 – May 2026

- Additional shifts may be required during peak December–January period (paid in full)
