Flavours Broadbeach Waters The Role Flavours on Charcoal is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join its kitchen team on a full-time basis. The role involves hands-on food preparation and cooking, with a strong focus on Brazilian cuisine and charcoal cooking techniques, while supporting efficient kitchen operations and compliance with food safety standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities Plan and prepare menus and daily or seasonal specials with an emphasis on authentic Brazilian cuisine. Prepare, season and cook food using charcoal and Brazilian barbecue techniques in accordance with menu requirements. Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking and presentation to ensure high standards are maintained. Prepare ingredients by weighing, measuring and mixing according to recipes and portion control requirements. Work across all sections of the kitchen, assisting team members as required and providing guidance on cooking procedures when necessary. Assist with estimating food and labour costs, managing stock levels, ordering supplies, receiving deliveries and minimising food waste, including accurate wastage recording. Ensure correct storage of food and compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements. Follow daily cleaning schedules and maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, charcoal grills and food preparation surfaces. Address customer meal complaints in a professional and cooperative manner, escalating issues to management where appropriate. Assist with training and supervision of kitchen staff, apprentices and trainees, and promptly report faulty or unsafe equipment to management.       Skills and Experience Relevant AQF Diploma qualification (or equivalent). Minimum one year of full-time relevant work experience as a Chef. Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support kitchen operations during busy service periods.
