About the Position:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our dynamic team at Tequila n Tacos. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise in a fast-paced, authentic Mexican restaurant, contributing to the creation of high-quality dishes that delight our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and develop menus, ensuring variety and authenticity in Mexican cuisine.
Estimate food and labor costs, and manage food supply orders efficiently.
Monitor and maintain the quality of dishes during preparation and presentation.
Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on culinary procedures.
Prepare and cook a wide range of Mexican dishes with precision and creativity.
Enforce and explain hygiene and safety regulations to maintain a clean and compliant kitchen.
Position Description (Main Duties and Tasks):
Planning menus, estimating food and labor costs, and ordering food supplies: Collaborate with management to design seasonal and specials menus, calculate costs, and ensure timely procurement of fresh ingredients.
Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation: Oversee food preparation to ensure consistency, taste, and visual appeal meet Tequila n Tacos’ high standards.
Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures: Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking methods, ensuring team alignment with restaurant standards.
Preparing and cooking food: Create authentic Mexican dishes, from tacos to enchiladas, while maintaining efficiency in a high-volume kitchen.
Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations: Uphold strict food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations and restaurant policies.
Requirements:

Qualifications: Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience as a chef in a restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of Mexican cuisine and cooking techniques.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high food quality standards.
