Summary

Our client, Marcellina Pizza Bar & Restaurant are looking for a qualified, experienced and energetic Chef to join the team at our Hindley St. Adelaide restaurant. Your culinary expertise will ensure that every meal is a delightful experience, tailored to individual preferences and upholding the highest food safety standards

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Full kitchen role with involvement in menu preparation, budgets, stock management, ordering and receiving of supplies.
- Preparing, cooking, and seasoning food and monitoring quality of dishes at stages of preparation
- Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes
- Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
- Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff
- Following health and safety requirements and enforcing hygiene regulations.
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Train new staff and collaborate with other team members 
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment including freezing and preserving food

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

- Hold an AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management
- Have at least one year of full time work experience working as a chef in a fast paced environment
- Proven experience cooking quality, authentic Italian pizza and quality dishes.
- Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members
- Be willing to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Be able to work in a fast paced environment; multitask and handle stress
- Be able to commit beyond normal working hours as and when required.
