About the Position:
As a Chef at Nadia’s Cafe Penrith, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef to deliver high-quality, restaurant-standard meals that consistently exceed customer expectations. This full-time position involves hands-on food preparation for a busy cafe environment, contributing to menu development and seasonal updates, and ensuring every dish upholds the venue’s reputation for freshness, flavour, and presentation. Your work will directly impact the overall dining experience, helping drive customer loyalty and business success in a fast-paced retail setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in the production of high-end, restaurant-standard food across lunch and dinner services, ensuring dishes exceed customers’ expectations in quality, taste, and presentation.
Recommend improvements to food products and introduce changes based on market research, customer feedback, and seasonal opportunities.
Maintain consistent food quality, delivery timing, and high standards in all aspects of preparation and service.
Support team objectives related to food profitability, operational efficiency, and exceptional service performance.
Assist in planning and implementing seasonal menu changes, monitoring effectiveness, and adapting to marketplace demands.
Uphold strict health and safety requirements, including conducting regular equipment maintenance checks in line with the Health and Safety Act.
Maintain accountability for all kitchen equipment, cookware, flatware, and glassware, ensuring proper care and inventory.
Demonstrate a high standard of personal grooming and uniform maintenance at all times.
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (or equivalent qualification).
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Chef in a comparable hospitality environment.
Strong technical skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and maintaining consistency in a high-volume setting.
Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards, with the ability to monitor and enforce compliance.
Proactive mindset with the ability to recommend improvements, adapt to feedback, and contribute to menu innovation.
Good interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and support overall venue goals.
High attention to detail, time management, and a commitment to delivering exceptional food quality.
