Department: Brisbane Recovery Centre – Red hill Classification: SCHADS Level 4 Employment Type: Full-Time Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm Site based – 100% Why this Role Matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely. About the Role As a Case Worker, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred services, including case management, assessment, referrals, education, and support. Your work will align with The Salvation Army (TSA) policies and procedures, contributing to positive outcomes for participants. You will support participants through consistent, recovery-focused case management practices, promoting empowerment and engagement. Key Responsibilities: Deliver day-to-day services through education, therapeutic interventions, group facilitation, assessment, referrals, and direct casework. Develop, implement, and regularly review individual treatment and support plans. Maintain accurate documentation including case notes, reports, and data records in accordance with established protocols. Perform additional tasks as requested by the Manager, Program Manager, or Senior Case Worker. Promote and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality. Collaboration & Networking: Maintain current knowledge of local referral networks and support options for participants. Engage effectively and professionally with internal teams and external service providers to ensure coordinated care. What You Will Bring Minimum Diploma-level qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Alcohol and Other Drugs, Community Services, Case Management). Demonstrated ability to manage unpredictable behaviours and situations using appropriate de-escalation strategies. Minimum 2 years of experience working in a recovery-focused environment (if applicable). Strong digital and computer skills. Capacity for critical self-reflection and commitment to ongoing professional development.
