Your part in our UnitingCare team We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team of dedicated Domestic Violence Outreach Case Managers to provide outreach based, specialised case management support to women and children who are impacted by domestic and family violence. You will engage the client in processes such as, but not limited to, safety planning, undertaking risk assessments, provision of court support (DV and Family Law), and provision of information and education in relation to domestic and family violence and its impacts. This position is a 6 month maternity leave contract with the possibility of extension. You will work with families to address issues such as, but not limited to, risk and safety concerns, providing practical and emotional support, linking the families with relevant services to meet their needs and supporting the families to obtain safe and sustainable accommodation free from violence. You will have a strong passion for working with women and children experiencing domestic and family violence, a thorough knowledge of the impacts of domestic and family violence on women and children, and demonstrated skills in applying this knowledge using a strength-based, trauma-informed framework. You will also have experience in running psycho-educational groups and knowledge of group facilitation processes. What makes a difference for us? The successful applicant will have; Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Human Service related field Qld Open Drivers Licence Working with Children Check (Blue Card) Due to the inherent requirements of this programs delivery we require female representation from our Supported Accommodation team, as such we are currently looking for a Female Support Worker. Please ensure you include your resume, cover letter and response to the selection criteria listed below Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services field with demonstrated skills and experience in working with women and children experiencing domestic and family violence A demonstrated understanding of the issues related to domestic and family violence, the criminal justice response to DV, legislation in relation to Domestic Violence Orders and an understanding of the family law system and child protection system Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning Highly developed interpersonal communication skills that are consistent with a strengths based and trauma informed approach Demonstrated professional integrity, with respect to matters such as privacy, confidentiality and the best interests of the child. Demonstrated ability in facilitating psychoeducational groups and knowledge of group facilitation processes Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively within a team and to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to apply a case management approach including the ability to maintain client documentation and proficiency in the use of technology including computer systems and software.
