Case Manager – Youth Services Make a lasting impact in the lives of young people and families at risk of homelessness. At The Salvation Army Australia, we believe in walking alongside people in their most vulnerable moments, offering support, dignity, and hope. We're seeking a passionate Case Manager to join our Youth Services team, delivering high-quality, client-led support to young people (aged 16–25) and families with children who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. About the Role As a Case Manager, you’ll develop meaningful relationships with clients, working collaboratively to create personalised case plans that empower them to achieve their goals. You'll work in both refuge and outreach settings, providing ongoing assessment, referrals, and advocacy, all within a trauma-informed and psychologically safe environment. Reporting to the Client Services Coordinator, this is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted until October 2026, based in St Kilda, VIC. Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 5. Key Responsibilities Build respectful, trusting relationships that encourage self-determination Provide comprehensive intake, assessment, and case management support Identify and respond to risks, including suicide and self-harm, in line with TSA procedures Develop and monitor client-centred case plans with regular reviews Advocate for clients and connect them with relevant services and community supports Contribute to service improvement and sector development through strategic working groups Participate in the administration of the youth refuge and service duty desk What You’ll Bring A degree in Social Work or a related field Experience working in social or community services, ideally in youth or homelessness sectors Strong emotional resilience and a commitment to trauma-informed care Excellent communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people and families An Employee Working with Children Check Current Driver’s Licence What We Offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities Flexible working arrangements Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives incl Fitness Passport Ongoing training and development opportunities that enhance on the job skills and proficiency Rewarding and fulfilling purpose driven careers that have positive and sustainable / social impacts Ready to make a difference?
