We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our construction team. In this role you will be responsible for the accurate assembly, installation, repair and finishing of structural and formwork components (wood, plywood, wallboard and similar materials), ensuring that all work meets design specifications, safety codes and Ace Form Group’s quality standards.
Position Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Interpret architectural, structural and formwork drawings to ascertain required timber sizes, fixings, quantities and installation sequences.
• Procure and inspect timber, plywood, structural boards and related materials, laying out cutting patterns and optimising yield.
• Precisely cut, shape and modify timber or composite elements, then fasten or join components using nails, screws, adhesives, or mechanical fixings.
• Assemble and erect formwork structures, framework, roof support, floor systems and subflooring, ensuring alignment, level and plumb.
• Attach sheathing, cladding panels, fascias, door and window frames, and external wall linings, coordinating with trades for openings and penetrations.
• Pre assemble elements (e.g. wall or roof panels, door frames) in workshops or on site so they can be installed efficiently.
• Fabricate and fit various wood joints (e.g. mortise & tenon, dado, lap joints) or mitres to produce strong, accurate connections.
• Construct and dismantle formwork for concrete pours (e.g. shuttering, support beams, moulds) in accordance with structural requirements.
• Undertake refurbishment and repair workpatch, re fix, replace damaged timber elements or fittings particularly in existing structures.
• Work with alternative materials (e.g. laminates, acrylics / Perspex, metals, composites) where required in finishing or architectural detailing, ensuring integration into timber elements.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
• Relevant qualifications.
• A minimum of one years' experience in a similar role.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction blueprints
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Familiarity with WHS regulations and safe work practices on construction sites
Salary: This is a full-time position offering a salary range of $76,515 - $85,000 per annum, based on a standard 38-hour work week, plus superannuation. Overtime may be available in accordance with project timelines.
