WHO WE ARE
At Wilks Carpentry & Renovations we pride ourselves in offering the highest quality building and carpentry services to customers in the Northern Rivers Region. We are available for carpentry, building renovations, extensions, and repairs in and around Byron Bay, including Ballina, Lennox Head, Bangalow, Mullumbimby, Ocean Shores, Brunswick Heads, Alstonville, Evans Head, Wardell, Lismore, Woodburn.

THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and finishing wooden and other structures according to specifications. You’ll work on a variety of residential, commercial, or industrial projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety and building standards.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Construction and installation of framework and detailed woodwork on high-end residential buildings; reading plans and drawings; cutting and shaping; installation of fixtures; repair and maintenance; framing; safety and compliance.

THE MAIN TASKS
• Interpreting plans, specifications and drawings to determine carpentry materials required, dimensions and installation procedures;
• Setting out, constructing and erecting wall and ceiling frames, eaves, and roof trusses;
• Construction and installation of structures such as walls, flooring systems, external stairs, panelling and partitions using mechanical fasteners;
• Fitting and installing windows and doors into wall frames, and installing associated furnishings such as hinges, handles and locks;
• Repairing and renovating wooden structures by removing and replacing damaged or deteriorated timber; and
• Constructing and installing formwork for concrete structures.

RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE
The relevant trade certificate of a Certificate III in Carpentry and a minimum of two years of work experience in carpentry at a trade worker skill level.

RELEVENT SKILLS
Candidate must have excellent time management and excellent carpentry craftmanship; ability to work in a team environment and lead a team.

Salary Expectations: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00
