About the Position:
As a Carpenter at Merville Homes Pty Ltd, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality residential construction projects, including custom homes, extensions, and renovations. This full-time role involves working on-site in Coburg North and surrounding areas, utilizing your expertise to construct and install timber structures and fittings with precision and efficiency. Your work will directly contribute to the company’s reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and client satisfaction, ensuring each project meets the highest standards of quality and functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret building plans to determine measurements, materials, and installation requirements.
Source, prepare, and set out timber and other materials for accurate construction layouts.
Cut, shape, and join timber components, securing them with nails, screws, or other fasteners.
Construct wall frames, roof trusses, sub-floors, and flooring, ensuring all structures are level and aligned.
Install fascia boards, roof sheeting, cladding, windows, and door frames with precision.
Assemble pre-made wooden components and fittings for on-site installation.
Create strong, accurate joints in timber to ensure structural integrity.
Build formwork for concrete projects as required.
Repair, replace, or maintain existing timber fittings and structures.
Work with a variety of materials, including timber, laminates, Perspex, and light metals.
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Certificate III in Carpentry (mandatory).
Minimum of 2 years of relevant carpentry experience.
Strong technical skills in reading building plans, precise measurements, and working with diverse materials.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective communication and teamwork, to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
