Job Description: • Fitzroy location • Challenging and rewarding work environment • Fixed Term / Full Time position until August 2026 About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated Cardiac Sonographer with full ASAR accreditation to join the Heart Centre Cardiac Physiology Team on a Fixed Term basis until August 23rd 2026. As a Grade 3 physiologist/sonographer you will have exemplary skills in one or more of the major specialities of cardiac sonography (echocardiography) / interventional & structural heart procedures / cardiac rhythm management. Participation of off site clinics as required. Furthermore you will be expected to participate in training of other staff members in your area of speciality. Additional administrative and organisational duties will be allocated as needed. Classifications for this position will range from SO57 - SO60 ($104,135.20 - $118,981.20 per annum). Duties Acquire and produce cardiac ultrasound images in a timely manner and relevant to requesting physician Provides transthoracic, TOE, 3D, Dobutamine, stress exercise, echocardiography and contrast and strain imaging Complete echo reports and manage image data Attend education meetings, train staff as directed, distribute and share of knowledge acquired from external education programs Participate and be flexible with rostered shifts, oncall roster and working at affiliated cardiac services sites. Skills, Experience and Qualifications Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science Graduate Diploma in Ultrasound or equivalent. In possession of full ASAR Accreditation. High level of clinical and technical expertise in echocardiography Strong commitment to continued professional development and teaching. Based at St Vincent’s Hospital Fitzroy Campus The Cardiology Department comprises the St. Vincent’s Heart Centre (SVHC), the Cardiac Investigation Unit (CIU) and the National Centre for Sports Cardiology (NCSC). The service is wide ranging, incorporating invasive & non-invasive investigations and procedures for the community both inpatient and outpatient Additional clinics provide outreach for the Victorian Correctional Services, the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS) and support for sporting groups and codes.
