We're a popular, vibrant café located in the beautiful coastal town of Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Known for our delicious coffee, fresh local produce, and friendly atmosphere. We're looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our dedicated team and help us continue to grow!
About the Role:
As our Café Manager, you'll be a key player in the daily operations of the café. Working closely with the owners and Head Chef, you'll be responsible for:
Leading and motivating a fantastic team: Supervise, train, and mentor staff to ensure high standards of service and productivity.
Delivering exceptional customer service: Ensure every customer has a memorable experience, handling enquiries and feedback.
Operational excellence: Oversee daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, stock management, rostering and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Quality control: Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality food and beverages.
Problem-solving: Proactively address any operational challenges or customer concerns.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role within a café or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Native speaker or fluent in English is a must.
A passion for coffee, food, and delivering outstanding customer service.
Solid understanding of café operations, including POS systems and inventory.
Ability to work a flexible roster, including weekends and public holidays.
RSA certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Management Degree (or equivalent).
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine love for the hospitality industry.
You will need your own accommodation and transport.
