About

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Maker to fabricate, assemble, and install high-quality cabinetry and wood fittings for residential, commercial, and bespoke projects. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate materials, operating machinery, and ensuring precision in every stage of production and installation.

Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.

Select and prepare materials including timber, laminates, veneers, and engineered wood products for construction.

Fabricate and assemble cabinetry and wooden components using both hand tools and power tools, ensuring accuracy and high-quality workmanship.

Operate CNC and CAD machines for marking out, cutting, and shaping wood components where required.

Install cabinetry in kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes, and other domestic and commercial spaces according to site requirements and layout plans.

Fit hardware including hinges, locks, runners, handles, catches, and drawer systems.

Apply protective coatings (e.g., lacquer, varnish) and finishes to cabinetry and furniture to enhance durability and aesthetic appeal.

Perform on-site adjustments and measurements to ensure accurate fitting and alignment.

May be involved in furniture restoration, repair, or the creation of custom or reproduction furniture.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to WHS practices and quality standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
AQF Certificate III in Cabinet Making or equivalent, including a minimum of 2 years on-the-job training; OR

At least 3 years of relevant full-time experience in cabinet making or joinery (may substitute for formal qualification).

Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists.

Skilled in the use of woodworking machinery, power tools, hand tools, and finishing equipment.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team on-site or in a workshop setting.

Understanding of safety procedures and standards in construction and manufacturing environments.
