If so, we want to hear from you as we’re looking for a Business Support Officer to provide vital support across HR and Finance functions.
- About the Role
- The Business Support Officer provides critical administrative and operational support, primarily to the Finance and Human Resources teams, enabling the smooth delivery of essential business functions across the Commission. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to engage across systems in finance, HR, asset management, and facilities coordination within a dynamic public sector organisation.
- What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will
- Support the finance team by processing purchase orders, supplier invoices, and credit notes in line with NSW Government Procurement Framework including sector reporting from time to time.
- Assist in bank transaction recording and liaise with the GovConnect banking team to ensure accurate and timely financial records.
- Provide administrative support for motor vehicle fleet and small asset register compliance.
- Provide administrative support and system assistance for the rostering platform in development, including data entry, user troubleshooting, and roster maintenance in collaboration with Finance, HR and frontline teams.
- Perform a range of routine processes, including business travel support, coordination and purchasing tasks.
- Coordinate general administrative duties including minute-taking, document and record management, meeting and event organisation, and system support.
- Assist with office maintenance requirements to support the effective operation of the workplace.
- What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented team member with
- Demonstrated experience in administrative or business support roles, ideally in a finance or HR context.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of administrative systems, with experience using government financial systems (e.g. SAP), Kronos or similar platforms being highly regarded.
- Strong ethical and governance mindset with a high attention to detail and commitment to compliance with policies and procedures

- Ensuring high levels of accuracy and compliance across diverse tasks, including financial transactions.
