We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Broadacre Crop and Livestock Farmer on behalf of our client, Hillcroft Farms Pty Ltd, a well-established and progressive mixed farming enterprise located in Lol Gray, Western Australia. This is a full-time, permanent position for a candidate experienced in the integrated management of cropping and livestock systems.

About the Role
This role involves the planning, coordination, and management of broadacre cropping and livestock activities across the property. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production of grain, fodder, and livestock (including pigs and sheep), while maintaining sustainable land management practices and compliance with animal welfare and biosecurity regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Aligned with ANZSCO Code 121711 – Mixed Crop and Livestock Farmer, responsibilities will include:
• Planning and managing the planting, fertilising, spraying, and harvesting of cereal, legume, oilseed, and pasture crops
• Managing rotational grazing and livestock feeding programs using on-farm grown feed
• Monitoring the health and welfare of sheep and pigs, and coordinating health treatments and animal husbandry tasks
• Overseeing the storage, cartage, and use of grain and fodder to support on-farm livestock operations
• Supervising seasonal and permanent staff, contractors, and machinery operators
• Maintaining and operating agricultural equipment and ensuring machinery is service-ready
• Monitoring paddock performance, soil fertility, and pasture health through data collection and agronomic support
• Managing infrastructure including fences, water systems, grain silos, hay sheds, and livestock facilities
• Keeping accurate records of inputs, outputs, livestock movements, treatments, and paddock histories
• Ensuring compliance with environmental, WHS, and animal welfare standards

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet one of the following:
• Hold a relevant bachelor’s degree or higher qualification (e.g. Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science); OR
• Have at least 5 years of full-time work experience in a similar mixed farming role; OR
• Have a combination of formal qualifications and experience deemed equivalent
Additional Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience managing broadacre cropping operations and livestock production concurrently
• Strong knowledge of animal husbandry, soil management, crop rotation, and integrated farming systems
• Familiarity with precision agriculture technologies, crop planning software, and livestock record-keeping tools
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage seasonal teams and coordinate with contractors
• Mechanically minded with experience in basic maintenance of farm equipment
• Valid driver’s licence is essential; additional machinery or vehicle tickets are highly regarded
