About Us We’re a professional services firm seeking an experienced Virtual Bookkeeper to support our finance operations on an ongoing, part-time contract basis. The role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to communicate confidently with clients when needed. The Role You’ll be responsible for managing our monthly bookkeeping activities and maintaining accurate, compliant records. You’ll also liaise with clients to follow up invoices or clarify payment details, so clear and professional phone communication is important. The role offers flexibility and autonomy, with an estimated 6–10 hours per month of work. Key Responsibilities - Manage accounts payable and receivable, including issuing and processing invoices. - Follow up outstanding invoices directly with clients via phone and email. - Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations in Xero. - Maintain accurate and organised digital financial records. - Prepare and share monthly financial summaries with Managing Director. - Ensure compliance with GST/BAS requirements. Requirements - Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping for small or professional services businesses. - High proficiency in Xero (essential). - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confident phone communication with clients. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy. - Reliable, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a virtual environment. Preferred - Some administrative experience (e.g. client correspondence, document management, or scheduling). - Experience with Harvest or similar time-tracking tools. - Understanding of consulting or HR service environments. Engagement Details - Contract, ongoing role. - Approximately 6–10 hours per month. - Fully remote, with flexibility in working hours. - Occasional direct interaction with clients as a visible member of our team.
