Location : Bathurst NSW
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000 a year

Located in the tree-lined hub of Bathurst NSW, The George Hotel offers a sophisticated and modern pub experience that is rare to the local area. Their architecturally designed, boutique space boasts a light-filled front bar, relaxed pub dining, a cosy lounge and fireplace setting, private function areas and guest accommodation.

The George Hotel is currently looking for hardworking and dedicated Bookkeeper to join their team.

Duties, and Responsibilities:

Maintain financial records and ledgers using accounting software.
Record transactions and complete month-end reconciliations.
Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS, reconcile GST and PAYG.
Process payroll, superannuation and STP reporting.
Reconcile bank, credit card and petty cash accounts.
Prepare invoices, manage receivables and follow up overdue accounts.
Process supplier invoices, schedule payments and monitor cash flow.
Maintain organised records of invoices, payroll, tax and compliance documents.
Produce routine financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.

Skills and Experience:

Relevant qualification in Accounting/Bookkeeping (or equivalent).
Minimum 1–2 years’ relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial records.
Knowledge of GST, BAS, PAYG and payroll compliance.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
