About

The Handypersons operating under the RJED Program will play an important role in supporting the overall beautification, upkeep, and functionality of the Warruwi community. Their work is both practical and essential contributing not only to the improvement of community spaces but also to the health, safety and wellbeing of all residents. As part of their responsibilities, the team will undertake a wide variety of tasks that cover multiple areas of maintenance and repair. This includes repairing plumbing systems to ensure reliable water access and sanitation, as well as fixing tools, machinery and other equipment needed for community projects and activities. They will also test appliances to guarantee they are functioning safely and efficiently, reducing the risk of breakdowns and hazards. The beautification aspect will extend to mowing and landscaping, which will enhance the appearance and livability of community grounds while promoting pride and ownership among residents. In addition, the Handypersons will carry out cleaning and remodeling of community facilities, ensuring that shared spaces remain safe, functional, and welcoming for all. General construction tasks will also form part of their work, ranging from small scale repairs to assisting with larger projects providing practical solutions that address immediate community needs. They will also be checking heating and ventilation systems to support healthier living environments particularly in ensuring airflow and climate comfort in homes and facilities. Where possible, they will not only complete repairs but also provide guidance and advice to community members about ongoing maintenance practices. Through these activities, the Handypersons under the RJED Program are creating meaningful contributions to the community while building their own skills, work readiness, and confidence. Their work strengthens community infrastructure, promotes healthier living conditions and Warruwi's growth and development.
