About the Position:
The Baker position at NT Bakery Pty Ltd is a hands-on role focused on crafting artisan breads, pastries, and cakes with precision and care. Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will contribute to daily production, ensure quality standards, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while delivering exceptional products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect equipment cleanliness and verify premises meet occupational health and safety standards before production.
Assess raw ingredient quality and accurately measure quantities for production.
Mix, knead, ferment, cut, mould, and shape dough and pastry items for baking.
Prepare and assemble various pastry fillings.
Monitor oven settings and product appearance to adjust baking times as needed.
Oversee shaping, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of bread, rolls, and pastries.
Apply glazes to buns and pastries and decorate cakes with icing, cream, and other finishes.
Operate specialized bakery machinery for rolling, moulding dough, and cutting biscuits.
Clean, grease, and maintain baking trays, tins, and other cooking equipment after use.
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications: AQF Certificate III in baking.
Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in artisan baking techniques, including dough preparation and fermentation.
Strong attention to detail for quality control and product consistency.
Ability to operate and maintain bakery machinery and equipment.
Knowledge of hygiene and occupational health and safety standards.
Time management and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and serve customers.
