Overview:

Located in the heart of Fortitude Valley, Danny's Artisan Bakery offers a charming "cellar door" retail space where you can pick up fresh, handmade baked goods straight from the source. Danny’s continues to supply his original store, as well as baking in-house at Harris Farm Markets West End and supplying Harris Farm Markets Clayfield. We use only the finest ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible, and combine traditional baking techniques with a touch of innovation to bring you a delicious range of breads, pastries, and custom cakes.

We are looking for a full-time Baker to join the team. This position is a full-time ongoing position, based on Fortitude Valley QLD 4006.

Main Tasks:

- Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients
- Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
- Preparing pastry fillings
- Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
- Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and
- cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
- Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
- Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits
- Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment

Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:

- Certificate III in Baking, and a minimum of 1 year’s full-time work experience in the industry; OR 3 years’ work experience in the industry to substitute the formal qualification.

Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:

- Able to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Strong leadership, motivational and people skills.

Annual salary will be between $76,515.00 to $78,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
