  • Job Description
  • The Associate Professor in Paramedicine is expected to make a significant contribution to all activities of the School of Medicine and Dentistry and the Health Group and play a significant role within the profession/discipline.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to make substantial distinctive contributions to teaching, research and engagement within the Paramedicine discipline. They will also make major original and innovative contributions to the field of expertise which are recognised as outstanding nationally or internationally.
  • In addition to the expectations associated with an Associate Professor, as Academic Lead for the Paramedicine discipline they will provide leadership and management of the staff. They will be responsible for establishing and maintaining ongoing collaborative partnerships that support learning and teaching, research and service within paramedicine, health professions and health care services as relevant to the discipline. The Academic Lead will also be a member of the School of Medicine and Dentistry’s Executive.
  • This is a continuing, full-time position based at Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
  • Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
  • Salary Range
  • The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Associate Professor Lecturer (Level D) range $167,008 - $183,992 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $195,400 - $215,271 per annum.
  • Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess

  • A doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing.
  • Demonstrated experience in academic leadership in relation to teaching, research and scholarship, with a strong record of driving performance.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).

  • Experience supervising and mentoring academic and research staff.
  • A student-centred approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality learning experiences.
  • The ability to foster productive partnerships with industry, community, and professional bodies.
  • A collaborative leadership style and the ability to contribute to strategic planning and academic governance.
