Position Title: Retail Assistant Store Supervisor Classification: General Retail Award, Level 3 Location: Fassifern Family Store, Boonah Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time (11.6 hours per week) Tuesday 7.6 and another day at 4 hours (decided upon hire) Why this role matters: The Salvation Army (Salvos) maintains a strong connection with the local community through our retail stores. Join our Boonah team as a Retail Assistant Store Supervisor and help support the daily operations of our Family Store — all while contributing to the mission and values of The Salvation Army. About the role: As the Assistant Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Gympie Family Store. This includes recycling, retail, and administrative tasks aligned with The Salvation Army’s mission and values. The role contributes to generating ongoing income to support the Corps and its community-based initiatives. How you will make an impact: As the Assistant Store Supervisor, you'll work alongside the Store Manager to: Deliver outstanding customer service across all areas of the store — shop floor, fitting rooms, registers, and beyond. Support marketing and promotional activities to boost store performance. Assist in processing donations and ensure stock is well-presented and priced correctly. Open and close the store, following established procedures. Handle cash securely and complete banking tasks as needed. Provide guidance and direction to team members and support the supervision of staff. What you will be bring: Solid customer service experience in a retail environment. A collaborative, team-focused approach with a can-do attitude. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is highly regarded. A reasonable level of physical fitness to carry out daily tasks.
