Nau mai haere mai ki tā mātou whānau | Welcome to our Fulton Hogan Family We are looking for an Asset Engineer to join our Maintenance Division in Gisborne. In this position, you will be responsible for data analysis and will assist in justifying forward work programmes. Your role will involve liaising with clients to ensure system accuracy and effective reporting. You will also contribute to network condition surveys and initiatives for asset improvement. Your contribution will be integral to the ongoing success of our contracts and other works. In addition to the above you will: Inspect and assess road asset conditions using field surveys and data collection tools Develop and implement road maintenance strategies, programs, and schedules Manage road asset databases, including updating and analysing asset information Prioritise maintenance activities based on asset condition, safety risks, and budget constraints Prepare technical reports, asset management plans, and budget estimates for maintenance works Coordinate with contractors, council staff, and other stakeholders for maintenance projects Monitor and evaluate completed maintenance works to ensure compliance with standards and specifications Ensure road maintenance activities meet regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements Utilise asset management systems (e.g. RAMM) for planning and decision-making Identify and recommend improvements to road design, materials, and maintenance methods Respond to emergency maintenance needs (e.g., severe weather, accidents) Support the development and review of tender documents and service contracts Undertake risk assessments and contribute to the overall risk management framework for road assets Good Work equals Good Benefits Company vehicle provided in this position KiwiSaver employer contributions Fuel discount card Parental leave top-up payment with additional return to work support Family scholarships Ongoing training and development, career growth and progression opportunities Great discounts at a wide range of retailers Medical insurance Life insurance At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities, they need to succeed and grow with us. We’re looking for someone with: Experience within NZ road maintenance asset management Tertiary level qualification preferably in Civil Engineering or equivalent in proven working experience Experience in analysing data related to road maintenance contracts to assist in making recommendations to improve network condition over the long term A high level of motivation and drive to get the job done Experience working with engineering consultants and contractors in road maintenance Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage long lasting relationships with the team, clients and stakeholders Experience managing and analysing large data sets Highly experienced with RAMM and proficient in using Excel and Word Creating, Connecting and caring for the community Our people regularly donate their time to local causes and initiatives, while at a regional and national level we provide financial support, skills, and resources to a wide range of organisations that are strengthening our communities.
