About us
We are a well-respected and successful international leader in the food processing and packaging equipment industry in Australia, and we are now seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to support the sales team in inspiring customers with new technologies and compelling solutions for their Human Nutrition needs.

The role
As part of a national team, this role is responsible for closely monitoring the relevant markets and driving and growing the Human Nutrition business, while providing technical advice and innovative solutions that fulfil our customers production requirements. Reporting to the Head of Sales, the Area Sales Manager is directly responsible for key account management sales and business development within the Human Nutrition business portfolio in the Oceania region and requires regular travel across Australia and the region.

The main duties and responsibilities include:
• Understanding the complete market, including competitors, and creating strategies and conducting market activities to generate leads. Proactively creating strategic market initiatives and preparing action plans and schedules to increase sales and opportunities across the Oceania region
• Collaborating with Technology and Engineering to develop engineered concepts for customer solutions and working with Project Execution on delivery ensuring a seamless experience to the customer,
• Presenting and selling company products, solutions and services to potential new and existing clients, inspiring active customers, reactive inactive customers and growing a new customer base
• Confidently negotiating and closing customer orders with commercial conditions
• Identifying and resolving customer complaints and concerns, ensuring excellent customer experience and the maintenance of strong customer relationships.

About you
You will have:
• A suitable tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or experience as a technical project manager
• 5+ years' experience in a solutions based technical sales environment, preferably in the food processing and manufacturing industry
• Strong technical background in supporting solution and value selling
• Key account management experience highly desirable with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain crucial relationships
• Proven track record of sales including large solutions based projects and demonstrated experience growing a customer base
• Full working rights within Australia.

You will also:
• Be fluent in English and have outstanding written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and administrative skills (advanced MS Office skills desirable)
• Have excellent interpersonal and customer relationship management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and a genuine determination to perform on, and exceed, customer expectations.
• Be determined and resilient
• Have a hands-on mentality, a can-do attitude, and a sense of humour
• Possess the ability and willingness to work autonomously.
