Lai Switchboards Australia is one of Australia’s largest switchboard and switchrooms manufacturers. With over 115 years of combined experience, we are a leader in the design and manufacture of custom switchboards.

As a result of continual national growth, Lai Switchboards are seeking an Architectural Technician/Draftsperson at our head office in Ferryden Park SA (South Australia). We want someone who is excited about the opportunity to build a stable, rewarding and lucrative career with us.

Schedule:

Full Time position: Monday – Friday & with overtime.

Wages / Salary

$75,000.00pa to $80,000.00pa exclusive of superannuation.

The Position

Prepare and present high-end documentation while having the opportunity to be involved in all stages of the architectural process on commercial projects. Liaise with consultants and stakeholders, developing your communication, and coordination skills.

Duties

Prepare detailed high-quality documentation
Implement Australian Building Codes and Regulations
Ensure all drawings are completed accurately to reflect consultant feedback and regulatory standards
Liaise with consultants and subcontractors
Be proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
Strong time management skills and ability to work independently
In depth knowledge of building regulations including Australian Standards, NCC and BCA
Ability to problem solve and workshop alternative design solutions where required
Ensuring a quality client experience
Can work independently and with senior team members
Being able to translate concept plans into detailed drawings
Working closely with the team and any other external consultants so that the project runs smoothly.

Skills and Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Architecture or TAFE in Building Design
High proficiency with Revit Autodesk
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Advanced Diploma of Architectural Building Design or higher
Proficient in AutoCAD & Revit
Track record of delivering projects/ tasks on time and effectively
Ability to liaise with consultants within the industry
