We are currently recruiting Aquaculture Technicians to provide support across our operations.

The Aquaculture Technician is an integral position within our business, ensuring that our prawns are provided with the highest standard of care and management to ensure animal health and quality.

These roles assist the operations in raising and managing aquatic stock by undertaking a range of specialised activities including but not limited to:
• onshore technical prawn husbandry tasks
• water sampling
• analysing data from ponds and tanks
• identifying common diseases and pests including performing tests and experiments as necessary
• providing technical support in areas such as research, production, servicing, and marketing.

Additionally, these roles provide support in:
• examining environmental and other factors that influence the growth, health and production of aquatic stock
• analysing aquatic stock to set and maintain standards of quality
• monitoring aquatic stock to gauge the effectiveness of feed formulae
• assisting in controlled breeding experiments to develop improved aquatic stock strains
• providing advice on farming techniques and management and production processes (as required)
• identifying pathogenic micro-organisms and insects, parasites, fungi and weeds harmful to aquatic stock, and assisting in devising methods of control

About You:
• Diploma in Aquaculture or relevant discipline
• Minimum one year of relevant full time experience
• Working knowledge of a prawn/shrimp hatchery, or prawn/shrimp farm
• You must hold a current manual drivers licence
• Enjoy working outdoors
• Enjoy working in a small but dedicated team
• Highly motivated, responsible and reliable
• Attention to detail and good communication skills are essential
• Flexible approach to working hours and locations
• Willingness to undertake shift and weekend work as required

Salary: $77,000 + Superannuation
