Pia Pharma is an Australian owned contract research and consulting laboratory with a productive analytical chemistry backbone to our service offerings. Our business provides quality driven scientific services to manufacturing clients within animal health, pharmaceutical, food and agrochemical industries. We deliver bespoke scientific solutions to some complex projects in quality assurance, quality control, product development, and regulatory sciences. Pia Pharma is licensed by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) and Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for provision of analytical services to the Australian and international human pharmaceutical and animal health industries. Role duties
Technical skills in chromatography, sample preparation and analysis of small molecules in medicinal, agricultural, feed or food samples
Develop and validate analytical methods, primarily UHPLC based to international standards (ICH/ VICH)
Conduct analyses using various analytical instrumental techniques (e.g. UHPLC/ HPLC), qualitative (e.g. FTIR), physical testing (e.g. Karl Fischer, viscometer), wet chemistry (e.g. Titration)
Conduct analyses of raw materials following monograph methods, instrumental, physical and wet chemistry methods
Ensure continued operation, calibration and maintenance of scientific instrumentation
Provide technical expertise and analytical support for consulting projects in product manufacture, quality assurance and regulatory affairs
Deliver an efficient, professional analytical chemistry service experience for clients from receipt of the sample through to reporting of the results and post-analysis technical assistance
Prepare value-added reports, which satisfy client expectations of a specialist consultancy
Maintain compliance of the analytical service with the principles of GMP as applied to human therapeutic or animal health industries
Promote and expand the scope of the analytical service through client interaction, participation at industry events
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or similar
Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role within an analytical laboratory
Highly proficient in the use of HPLC/UPLC within a commercial pharma/ GMP environment
Experience with chromatography data systems (i.e., Empower™) to operate laboratory instrumentation
Demonstrated experience in analytical method development and validation to international standards (ICH/ VICH or other)
Experience meeting APVMA/ TGA requirements relating to analytical laboratory quality, and participation in audits
Capability to troubleshoot and solve problems that can arise within a busy analytical laboratory
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
