We’re excited to launch a brand-new Agricultural Motor & Machinery Assessing Team in 2026, with roles based across key regional hubs - Dubbo, Wagga Wagga, Albury-Wodonga, Ballarat, and surrounding areas. As an Agricultural Motor Machinery Assessor, you’ll deliver expert assessments, help customers when it matters most, and help ensure fair, efficient outcomes for our rural and regional communities. About the Role As an Agricultural Assessor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting rural and regional communities. You’ll assess damage to light and heavy agricultural vehicles and machinery, coordinate repairs, and ensure timely, cost-effective outcomes for our customers and QBE. Conduct accurate assessments and recommend best-practice repair methods in line with industry standards and manufacturer guidelines. Work closely with repairers, suppliers, and clients, both in person and via phone or digital channels. Source and negotiate replacement parts when needed. Deliver exceptional service that exceeds expectations and meets claims service standards. Adopt claims strategies that drive business objectives. Maintain clear documentation and accurate records within our IT systems. About You We’re looking for someone who brings technical expertise and a strong regional focus. Ideally, you’ll have: A relevant mechanical trade qualification and licence. Solid agricultural knowledge, especially in farm machinery and equipment. Experience in claims assessment (preferred but not essential). Solid experience of repair methods and settlement types is essential for success in this role. While prior assessing experience is highly regarded, it’s not mandatory — we’ll provide comprehensive training to develop your assessing expertise. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build lasting relationships. High-level written and verbal communication abilities. Confidence with digital systems and solid IT skills are highly valued, but if you’re not there yet, don’t worry — we’ll provide full training to get you up to speed. Great planning and time management skills. A quality- and cost-focused approach to claims management. Flexibility to travel within the region as required.
