Salary: - $75,000 to $90,000 excluding superannuation
Australis College Pty Ltd, trading as Nomi College, is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant (General) to join our team. This is a full-time permanent position based in Adelaide.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the formulation and implementation of budgetary and accounting policies to ensure the College’s financial sustainability and compliance with education sector standards.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and reconciliations for presentation to management, the board of directors, and statutory authorities.
• Conduct financial investigations and prepare reports on student fee revenue, government funding, taxation, and compliance requirements.
• Examine operational costs, income, and expenditure related to college programs, student services, and administration to support cost-effective decision-making.
• Provide assurance regarding the accuracy of financial reports, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Offer financial and taxation advice on college operations, including student fee structures, new program offerings, and long-term planning.
• Liaise with banks, auditors, and financial service providers to manage accounts, payments, funding arrangements, and investment planning.
• Introduce, maintain, and improve accounting systems, and advise on the selection and use of accounting software relevant to the education sector.
• Maintain and oversee internal control systems to safeguard College assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Appraise cash flow and financial risks associated with capital investment in facilities, new course development, and future growth strategies.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in accounting or a closely related field is essential.
• Minimum of 1 years of relevant work experience in accounting or financial management.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation legislation.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.
