About the role As our Accountant (Fixed Assets/Projects) you will work within a small team of professionals responsible for month-end and year-end financial and statutory accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow planning, fixed assets and capital projects as well as general support for enabling portfolios. This role ensures all capital expenditure is correctly accounted for and reported; maintain the fixed assets register; participate in capital expenditure planning (and impact on cash flow); support accounting and reporting for Enabling units; and contribute to Group accounting activities with the ability to work as part of a bigger team. This is a permanent full-time role based St Leonards with hybrid opportunities. Health & Wellbeing programmes Reward & Recognition programmes Referral bonuses Career and professional development opportunities The role Capital expenditure accounting and reporting, including construction in progress, reviewing P&L and balance sheet accounts for appropriate accounting treat in line with capital expenditure policy and accounting standards Maintenance of fixed asset register and calculation of depreciation including capitalizing assets, running depreciation process and assessing useful lives of assets Capital expenditure planning – develop budgets and rolling forecasts for capital expenditure projects in conjunction with the Property Capex Team. Owning the capex cash flow budgeting and forecasting and related monthly reporting to business managers Leases – maintain IFRS 16 lease register and process necessary journals. Create models for new leases for the business (Property, IT and motor vehicles) in accordance with IFRS 16 requirements Motor Vehicle Fleet accounting – responsible for accurate accounting for motor vehicle fleet (owned and leased), including acquisitions, disposals and depreciation/amortisation. Engagement with fleet team on management of fleet and ensuring reconciling to fleet management systems Assist in the preparation of the fringe benefits tax return, ensuring compliance with FBT regulations Responsible for completing the monthly completion balance sheet reconciliations for all fixed asset accounts (including fixed assets, leased assets and WIP) Maintaining and updating master data in the financial systems related to fixed assets to ensure accurate and up to date Provide support throughout the external and internal audit process, including ensuring relevant information is provided related to fixed assets on a timely basis Maintaining and update policies, procedures and guidelines related to fixed assets. Maintain and improve financial processes, procedures, and internal controls related to areas of responsibility Various project work as directed by the Financial Controller, including involvement in system development and implementation of new accounting systems Ad hoc tasks as required Provide leadership and development of Financial Control team You: Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action Qualified Accountant (CPA/CIMA/CA) At least 1-3 years demonstrated experience as an Accountant Ability to build rapport with stakeholders, to communicate and present accounting/financial information in layman terms Ability to interpret and apply accounting standards to practical situations and keep up to date High attention to detail Commitment to meeting deadlines A growth mindset, and commitment to continuous improvement in operations Strong administrative and MS Office skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Property/Asset accounting experience highly regarded Exposure to SUN systems advantageous Exposure to the Aged Care Sector advantageous To Apply If you are ready to make a difference with HammondCare, Apply Now!
