- We’re looking for a detail-driven Accountant to join our Finance team!
- This role is critical in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of AFCA’s financial records and reports. You’ll support financial control and operational activities, ensuring everything runs smoothly and aligns with our standards. This role would suit an emerging Accountant, with experience in cash management, treasury or banking, and a strong focus on compliance.

Typically in this role you will
- Process financial transactions accurately and on time to maintain integrity across records.
- Manage treasury functions including investments, liquidity, and banking administration.
- Complete bank reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and investigate banking issues.
- Maintain cashflow models and prepare weekly forecasts and statutory reporting.
- Support investment strategy by preparing advice papers for excess funds.
- Assist with FBT processes, including transaction reviews and return preparation.
- Handle refunds and unclaimed monies in compliance with regulations.
- Administer corporate credit cards, process journals, and ensure policy compliance.
- Support audits and governance reviews, providing documentation and insights.
- Contribute to financial reporting, policy development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need
- Tertiary qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- CA/CPA qualified or studying towards.
- Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft D365 FinOps advantageous) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a high-level of numeracy and accuracy.
- Exceptional people skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
