About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our friendly and supportive team. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our end-to-end company accounting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid accounting background who is proactive, organised, and able to use their initiative.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Finance Manager to review Finance Team current processes and procedures to identity efficiencies and areas for quick improvements. Conduct regular checks of compliance with record keeping processes.
* Undertaking complex reconciliations across our general ledger accounts and prepare journals to record adjustments. Resolve emerging accounting integrity issues across the general ledger. accounts and recommend areas for further review.
* Reconciliation of corporate credit and debit cards and bank accounts
* Reconciliation of major supplier accounts and creditor statements.
* Reconcile a selection of complex supplier accounts and creditor statements and provide guidance / support to accounts clerk re complex reconciliations
* Ensure compliance with reporting obligations - ATO, superannuation, payroll tax, and other statutory requirements.
* Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting.
* Assist external accountants / auditors in end-of-year processes.
* Supply CEO with accurate financial reporting for the CEO to analyse and prepare strategic commentary for leadership meetings
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Accountant or in a similar role (preferred)
* Bachelor’s degree accounting or equivalent
* MYOB experience (highly advantageous)
* Highly organised, methodical, and capable of managing multiple priorities
* Strong attention to detail
* Friendly, professional communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of confidentiality and professionalism
* Willingness to accept guidance and support the wider team
