Join us in this life-changing mission. About the Role We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Accommodation Options for Families (AOF) Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This role is part of the Western Metro Homelessness Service and is vital in helping families facing or experiencing homelessness to access stable and sustainable housing options. As an AOF Support Worker, you’ll deliver trauma-informed, person-centred case management to families at risk of entering rooming houses or other unsuitable accommodation. You’ll work across the LGAs of Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Wyndham, Melton, and Moonee Valley — reaching out to those who need support the most. This is more than a job — it's a chance to walk alongside people during critical moments in their lives and help them regain stability, hope, and confidence. Reporting to the Support Services Coordinator, this is a permanent full-time position, based in Sunshine, VIC. Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 5. You Will Successfully Deliver holistic case management through outreach to families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, including those in crisis, transitional, or private rental accommodation Provide crisis support and housing assistance, including securing safe accommodation, managing public/social housing applications, distributing financial aid, and linking clients to relevant services Empower families using a strengths-based approach, promoting self-efficacy, informed decision-making, and long-term, realistic housing solutions Advocate with housing providers and agencies to achieve sustainable housing outcomes, prevent tenancy breakdowns, and increase awareness of tenancy rights Maintain accurate client records and uphold compliance with TSA policies, administrative tasks, legislative requirements, and contribute to ongoing projects and service improvement initiatives You Will Have Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related community services field Experience working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities Deep understanding of the complexities of homelessness and systemic barriers Exceptional communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills A passion for social justice, equity, and empowering others A valid Employee Working with Children Check A current Driver’s Licence Why Work with Us?
